No puns. This is actually about the movie.
I watched it last night for the first time in years, and I finally understand my mother’s attraction to Tom Selleck. At least, Tom Selleck circa 1987. Muscle shirts, moustaches , and teeny tiny running shorts? I can get on board with that.
I told Mike last night that if we ever find ourselves in a situation where we need two additional men to move in with us to help raise our future babies, those men need to be Tom Selleck and Steve Guttenberg. Sorry, Ted Danson.
Did you know Leonard Nimoy directed Three Men and a Baby? Insert Dr. Spock joke here.
Also, they’re planning on making another one called Three Men and a Bride? I’m not sure how I feel about that…
Anyway — this was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid– but rewatching it as an adult is kind of like seeing it for the first time. For example, the whole heroin smuggling storyline was kind of lost on me when I was 10. Kind of like the first time I watched Dirty Dancing as an adult — premarital sex, shady abortions, and con artists? Ten-year-old Ashley was totally unaffected. All I wanted to do was practice my lifts in a lake, and dance on a log over a stream.
